What is the upper limit of moral evil capable by someone acting within every tenet of the Bible?

The canonical bible that came out of the catholic church has many confusing and some downright contradictory ethical teachings. Because of this, to act "within every tenet" of the Bible would be unrealistic to the point of impossible. One could easily cherry-pick passages from the bible to morally "substantiate" a wide variety of actions, and we have in fact seen this done repeatedly over the past few millennia.

So I would say the bible is not at all "morally sound"

The Catholic Church is the largest charitable organization in the world. She has made many saints and invented the hospital and universities.

The bible's morality is internally defined, so by the morality expressed in it they'd be 100% moral. You haven't defined the morality you're intending to judge it by yourself, though

Modern or even medieval Roman Catholicism did not meaningfully exist prior to the schism. Read St. John of Damascus' Exact Exposition of the Orthodox Faith (8th century). The bible is Orthodox

I was simply referring to the Catholic biblical canon, which I would assume is what most people on here mean when they refer to "the Bible". Anyway, I would assert the point I was making (here >>18614024) in reference to any common biblical canon

No, it's just that G*D isn't perfect even according to its own account

>6 And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
>7 And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

But that's ok: god does not exist, of course he can't create perfect stuff.

Obvious example of Old Testament "eye for an eye" vs new testament "turn the other cheek". I have heard the arguments explaining old testament morals being superseded by the teachings of Jesus, but they seem to me to be ad hoc arguments made to fit a certain ideology.
Outside of that, it's easy to see an interpretation of the bible that, for example, spurs the Christian to proselytize at any cost, up to and including war/killing or one that leads him to be a pacifist.
There are also ways to interpret the text to believe in predestination or to interpret it to believe in free will (there is obviously a big history of church schism surrounding this and other issues), and there are clearly immense ethical implications to which of those you believe in.
I could provide passages to support these conflicting views but I feel like this is a well-worn topic that has been much debated for a while now, so I hope you get my meaning.

nice quad quads btw
