18582732 No.18582732 [Reply] [Original]

So ive got suggested to read it and i did. First of all its amazing i loved it. Second of all and the most importantly… unironically this character is almost me. Except the God part because i do believe in God and i hope he exists. But when i was reading his thoughts on everything around him i found myself in it, i even got excited during the parts when he went to cinema and chilled with that girl. Whats even worse is i even got in situations when i did something innocent but in the context it actually wasn’t (said some stuff to a teacher that got me in a huge trouble, did something at my work because I didn’t thought about how it will look). It was weird.

Meursault is a drooling idiot who cucked himself out of a future and killed a dude because he blindly obeyed a man who literally everyone knew was a bad person. If you are like him, slap yourself and grow a pair.

I think you are right. It’s not like i choose to be like that. My environment made me detached as fuck. Sometimes i even just stop talking during a dialogue because I don’t want anymore, i cock blocked myself like that a few times. I do have a pair, but i also have a hole in me. A void. I would never do anything criminal because i do care about future, i just highly relate to his detachment from everything, to his indifference to people around him.

Most everyone goes through a stage in life like that, the realization and acknowledgement is part of growing up.

Sometimes i think how will i form a family with me being like that. Dont know if i will get that feeling back. I felt alive inside when i was a child.

Work on the empathy. The selfishness of youth can not be maintained for most, it becomes empty and hollow.

Not op but I don't understand why lit hates Camus. I find that he combines philosophical thoughts and a narrative quite well.
