Being rich in itself isn't interesting. Characters are interesting for being a character, regardless of background

I'd like to know how they get through life being rich. I've heard of too many fuckups who got rich and then lost all. I don't like the idea of flexing in front of others.
>>18565308
good point. I'm hoping one of them wrote a fiction based on real life experiences (being rich). I should probably read more about Keanu since he's the closest example of what I'm looking for.

Read about old money people that's the aesthetic. Invest and live a humble life. Dress in old money stuff like shirts and trousers.

Seriously, OP i can't imagine you not being dangerously mentally ill. What is wrong with you? The concept of someone not being a complete braggard is really that fascinating to you that you need a full book of that? Get help bro. The rich not flaunting their wealth became common in the decline of the nobility and the rise of burghers.

My dad's diary.
his 2003 audi a4 car's battery wont last 24hours so he has to get the neighbor to help start it, but apaprently he lost nearly 2 million in worth when the stock market kinda dipped last year with corona.

i live off only 500€ a month but could have gone to epic international boarding schools doing blow at diplomats' homes, but instead I was forced to walk to the nearest school and do sports with older neighbor kids hand-me-downs shoes and racketts.
I dont even know what the point of having all that money is if you dont do anything but invest it into more numbers on a screen and homes you never will live in yourself. He never spends any.

Circumstances can help drive character and plot. In general circumstances are not in and of themselves interesting (or, rather, they are all interesting in an equal amount, with variations in the amount depending on what you do with the circumstances.)

One of wealthiest guys I know tells everyone he’s a janitor.
Dude makes 50k/day.
Has a basic car, invests it all.
I once asked him: “bro, why do you never flex?”
He laughed, smiled, and said:
“Because I know who I am.”
Major lesson here

This guy is supremely based. It also fucks up golddiggers. "A millionaire almost pretending to be a beggar."

What does he work with?

The thing is, the penny pinching mindset is what got him rich in the first place. I think with people like this there is never a point where they can just "turn it off" and actually enjoy their wealth.

There's a Kosztolányi short story about a man who gets a large inheritance and actively tries to get rid of it without letting anyone know that he's rich. It's the 6th chapter of Esti Kornél, you can read it without reading the other chapters but you should read the whole book if you liked it.

To be fair, it's not like the studio was keeping him up to date with everything that is and isn't ready. And it shouldn't be a surprise anymore that game studios pump out unfinished shit and then patch/force microtransactions for everything else.

People keep complaining about shit but keep buying from those studios. Nothing will change until people actually force their hands.

Do you want it to be a story about a person, e.g., novel or biography, or are business and personal finance books acceptable?
