Really, Hinduism has never been apocalyptic with an end coming soon, the current cycle will end at some point a tens of thousands of years from now. Guénon, never gave exact date in any of his works afaik and does not even mention that date in "Traditional Forms and Cosmis Cycles", and in Reign of Quantity he writes that even if one could fix on precise dates (which he rather doubts), one should keep quiet about them, "in order not to run the risk of contributing to a further growth of the anxiety and disorder now reigning in our world"

In any case, he says, what is destroyed at the end of the cycle is only what must be destroyed because its manifestation is finished and exhausted and in the memorable closings words of the book he goes on to say:
"The 'end of a world' never is and never can be anything but the end of an illusion"

The solidification of the Kali-Yuga will at some point achieve critical level. I personally do not know what this will mean in "terrestial" sense, some sort of Catasthrope or sudden change of events, the gems and the appearance of "Heavenly Jerusalem" descending is at least by Guénon viewed in a transformational sense. Nowhere I see a mention of humanity wiped out, on the contrary, Guénon imples the beginning of another humanity in the New cycle.

Well, Guénon uses in that particular chapter footnotes that use Kabbalistic terms and especially his observation concerning the Cubic form corresponding to Sephira Yesod, the foundation.

Even though some people put much importance in his books that deal Hindu/Vedic works, I've never given much importance to them and Guénon's works can be approached strictly from 'western symbolism' perspective and even Hermetic Qabalah would give the reader a solid metaphysical map with terminology to work with. After all, most of these things are just systems of knowledge and linguistical terms, but symbolism is will always remain universal.

"The Corner Stone/Foundation Stone" in terms of 'solidification', or as I understood, is to be regarded that this Yuga will serve as the foundational stone for the new Yuga, but not in a sense of Kali-Yuga continuation or some Fifth Yuga coming after that. Kinda like the foundation stone for a house on which the actual building will be then built on, so there is a question of some continuity between the two. Or this is how I understand it. Because some people also imply that all traces of this Yuga must be wiped out, before new one can begin, but I do not think this is the case what at least Guénon has implied.
