How close are the books to the TV show. Are they worth watching. I've read several times Cumbersnatch is the best screen version of Sherlock
But no one rates the stories.
So is it good to watch and
2. Do they explain in the book what happened when he fell off the roof after Moriarty killed himself?

The people who own Sherlock Holmes have copyrighted "non-dickhead Sherlock Holmes". This is not a joke. It's fucking insane, and doesn't make any fucking sense, but there you go. So, yeah, the books are different. Sherlock is shit by the way. Elementary is much better.

I don't know the show, but it's explained in the books. I can't remember what Holmes did, but he reappears to explain everything to Watson and trick a sniper/tiger hunter who worked for Moriarty.

The first two seasons were fun. Idk maybe at the time I was watching them clouded my judgement. I was into the whole private detective adventure things and really wanted to live in London. I was 15. His coat was also really cool and the music was nice

This. Show was very stylish and cool for when it came out, but it always retarded. Look no further than the first episode, where it takes Sherlock fuckin Holmes fucking ages to figure out the killer is a cab driver, even after it's become completely obvious to the audience. If the audience is ahead of Sherlock Holmes, you've fucked up Sherlock Holmes.
Add on top of that the ludicrously retarded "one cup is poisoned" princess bride thing at the end, and you can see how the show was always targeted at subwits, but enjoyable to midwits because of its style and the talented cast.
But in season 3 it went past the event horizon of retardation and became unenjoyable. I never even bothered with season 4, but apparently it's about a secret Holmes sister whose so bloody brilliant she had a perfect plan for everything like twenty years in advance or something equally retarded.
The creator also ruined Dr Who with this exact same brand of faux-genius, iamverysmart bullshit.
