Have gotten back into reading in a big way and have noticed myself more appreciative of life in general and trying to emulate the positive attributes of the characters in my books.
What has reading done for you? When you get off of a reading streak what do you notice? How do you enjoy your books (Coffee Shop, outdoors, on the couch, etc.)? Have a great weekend!

I started reading philosophy at age 23 (26 now) and when i look back it's like i was sleepwalking for the first quarter century of my life. I was another NPC. Today i am awake and i know who i am. Pic related is current read.

Reading has absolutely benefited my attention span, vocabulary, and ability to articulate. I feel like a fog has been lifted from my mind. I also get to dab on the normoids by irl pseud posting

Philosophy has a steep learning curve. There's just so many themes, ideas, and concepts that you need to get a grounded foundation on. You can honestly start anywhere, but don't expect immediate understanding

What would you personally recommend? I'm open to anything

I used to read a ton as a kid. I remember Ranger's Apprentice being my favorite series. But I stopped reading when i was a teen. Tried to get back into it around 19 but it was slow going. I'm 22 and reading more consistently. Mainly philosophy but I also read fiction on the side.

Etinee Gilson has some really interesting overviews of the history and development of philosophy. The Unity of Philosophical Experience details from Descartes to Kant in a pretty good way.
Other than that unironically start with Plato's Five Dialogues. Euthyphro, Meno, Apology, Crito, and Phaedo. Other than that, trust your gut and pursue what seems personally interesting to you
