How can overcome the regret of not reading more when I was younger? I was just reading a book of Shelley's poetry and the biography section at the beginning made me so ashamed.

Stop comparing yourself to others and stop caring. Instantly the problem vanishes. Have you ever been asked such asinine questions?

It is better to be 20 year old retard than 30 year old retard. Read whatever you want now. If you don't like something, drop it. Life is too short to read boring and useless books.

even if you started seriously reading at 16 you’d be ashamed when you hear of the child prodigy who started at 10. I’m going to tell you to not compare yourself to others but I do it as much as you do too desu. good luck

Read more. Now. Start. Just start. You want to total up the hours of every video game you have played and every tv show you have watched all the porn you have consumed to realize that you’ve wasted away 15% of your life on consumptive media that provides only temporary relief from the pains of the human condition? Go for it. But it’ll just make the feeling worse. The best answer is to just start now. Go through all the books you wish you read. The classics you were never taught in school. The tomes /lit/ shitposts about. Just start reading.

You can’t. You’ll carry it with you to the grave. Sorry but more than a handful of us are in the same boat and there’s no use in pretending there’s some sort of solution because there’s not. You simply can’t get time back.

stop being a bitch and comparing yourself to others. compulsive self hate and comparison are the bases of ressentiment. you don't want to go down that path surely. just read and enjoy yourself.
