Your examples do not follow from her sentence though? She merely means that gender is performed, not the specific manner under which it should be performed (even though to be sure, there is a "normal" manner historically established). Trannies, chads, nerds, lesboz, truck driver lesboz, hard gays and upstanding gentlemen gays are all performing gender as well. This doesn't mean they are anyhow "fake" or "dishonest" either - just that their expression of identity must be somehow contingent to many conditions external to themselves, rather than being innate. It says nothing about sexuality either - or lipstick for that matter, given that in places like the Emirates men actually wear makeup quite extensively for instance, and it's still considered to be a very much male gender performance.
