I haven't read very much Jung but in Modern Man in Search of a Soul there's a chapter where he talks about the usefulness of classifying people into different personality types and claims that every man unequivocally fits into some grouping of the functions he outlines.

Mbti may be bullshit but it's fun and there's undoubtedly some essence of truth to it. Who all is /infp/ here? The description of the infp type perfectly describes the way my mind has always worked. I recently met another person who typed as infp, even before she told me I'd felt a strong connection to her, I understood her in a way I've never felt with anyone before, it was uncanny.

The thing is, Zodiac is based on the date of your birth (i.e. arbitrary unless you believe in the occult), MBTI is based on self identification and self description. Even if it cannot accurately classify people according to their core personalities, it can classify people according to what they believe or want their personalities to be. Which in a way is a part of their personality. So it isn't 100% arbitrary like Zodiac is.
