So I'm buying my first Wordsworth book and the description says it has notes. For whose of you who own an annotated Wordsworth book, what can I expect from the notes? Are they sufficient or lacking?

Based on my books, there's a serious lack of notes but I don't mind it. I have a Penguin with a couple of Wilde's plays, and it's crawling with notes, while the complete plays edited by Wordsworth only has a couple of notes.

They're decent, as far as these things go*, but it varies because notes are as good as the person who writes them. In general, older editions add less notes than what's common today.
*I can't reconcile why the majority on this board rant against academia yet need to study every book as of its a college assignment.

Because they get bad grades and need to reaffirm their intellectual superiority in this board by studying the book on their own terms where grading is decided by rhetoric and the amount of newfags calling you based. also guenon. he sucks dick but 4chan is gay so that's okay

Why are notes associated with university and academia? I just want to learn more abou the book without googling this one term, this one name. I don't even study anything literary.

I'll have you know I got excellent grades on the second try (I got kicked out of my first Uni).

based fellow second-lifer, did you start from scratch or did you continue where you left off?

I have Moby Dick and Dracula. Most of the notes are just definitions or explanations of allusions. Helpful.

I kept my friends and what little knowledge I acquired, but when it comes to course credit I started from scratch.

That must be their most accurate cover yet.
