>Education is near the bottom
It's not a surprise. I'm a teacher and they force us to do a master's certificate in education, and it's a giant clown car of pseuds and armchair philosophising dressed up as 'science'. I can't understand why they force us to study academic pedagogy, anyone with a real degree studying this shit realises what a farce their entire field of study is.

Intelligent people sometimes get called 'emotionally unintelligent' because they don't expect people to be stupid enough to take umbrage over half the shit that they do. "Oh, this coffee wasn't great" suddenly turns into a massive deal for some people.

>> No.18330397

>>18330380
that is true, it is always harder for intelligent people to relate to people who are dumber

>> No.18330419

Why are so many anons obsessed with intelligence when all they need to achieve in life is to embrace God?

I wouldn't say this is true. It's not an inability, but an overestimation; it's like the aphantasia issue. You expect everyone to be able to do something, because it's such a core part of your thinking faculties, you can't fathom how someone could really be doing without it. In this same vein, you have people with low emotional regulation that will take grand offence to minor things. It is a peril of the optimism of being intelligent, that you might assume that others possess similar skills (if not to the same degree).

Personally, I have found the dumbest and nastiest people to be fat women. They are consistently terse, misandrists, and untrustworthy in their conduct. In particular I find obesity to be a defect of character moreso than a defect of stature, and women tend to be less sufferable than men...

>> No.18330489

>>18330447
yeah that makes sense to me. Fat women are often vapid and have no redeeming qualities

You're painting with a big brush. It's difficult for people at relative extremes to relate.

The poor can't relate with the decisions of the rich, the powerful with the weak and so on. There are exceptions. Two predominate ones that come to mind is the moral schism between two people, where value systems are misaligned but the reasoning behind actions are comprehensible but the implicit valuation is negative, thus the action is colored with repulsion. The other is that some people, through the length of life experience tremendous shifts - rags to riches or a fall from grace, this imparts to them a strong reference point, the acuity of understanding gained from this means they're capable of reasoning from two perspectives at once. From direct experience with this, I find that it wears over time without "tending your garden".

I cant take anyone who studied theology seriously. It is literally a field based on fairy tales. Poor fellas who waste time and money studying this imaginary BS

Another teacher here, and I firmly believe that pedagogy is a pseudoscience, at least the one they make us study in the joke of a master that is an Education MA.

I can't imagine being able to take it seriously after doing an undergrad. It's basically "bro trust me, this thing I 'tested' on my class makes ALL the difference" followed by "ANECDOTAL EVIDENCE DOESN'T COUNT CITE THE PEDAGOGY". It's a giant question mark.
