1. The one about two mouse brothers, one who lives in a city, and the other in a farm.
2. The one where the main character is a raven who loves eating cheese

Forgot what they're called, but they were really enjoyable.

I remember reading a book called the "Scrambled Up States of America" which was about Kansas being sad he never gets to go to see the ocean or other countries like Mexico and Canada, so his best friend Nebraska organizes an event where all the states would swap places for a little while. It taught me a lot about geography and I used to read it every day at school.

When I was little I had a book about these weird little hippo looking dudes that dressed like humans and lived underground and in trees. They used small animals to fight, flew on birds, I think they had guns. The book covered their life throughout the 4 season....wish I could remember what the damn thing was called.

If I were to pick my top 5 favorite artists from my list:
1) Inga Moore's works, incl. A House in the Woods, Six Dinner Sid, her work on The Secret Garden
2) Sven Nordqvist's Pettson and Findus series
3) Maxfield Parrish's works, incl. Knave of Hearts
4) Alfred Bestall's Rupert annuals
5) (tied) Kay Nielsen and Fritz Baumgarten's works

My list in general is very good though. Picture books can be high-art.

For me, its Green Eggs and Ham. It was the first book I read on my own, start to finish. I remember staying up late one night, and I got so interested in the challenge of reading it that I went through the whole book. It took what felt like an eternity, I must have been really sounding out words at that moment, and then trying to figure out what word the sounds related to. Beyond that, I really identified with the No, David! series or whatever it was called.

The story is pretty shitty. A fish goes to a another fish with shiny scales, asks for one of them without giving a reason besides 'he has so many' or offering something in return, gets a no and proceeds to tell the 'friends' of the rainbow fish what happened, The 'friends' don't want to do anything after that with the rainbow fish. They don't even talk to him, they just swim away. He goes to an octopus who advises him to give all his shiny scales but one to his 'friends' and the guy at the beginning to become happy, which he does, happy end.
