Because while Ellul is very good, he is dense and hard to talk about because of his large corpus regarding technology. It is much easier to talk about the same issue from Ted’s perspective, because he read Elul and simplified it into what he considered to be relevant for practicable purposes.
Have you not noticed that there is little discussion on /lit/ that couldn’t be gained from a wiki on the same matter? It’s not because people don’t read, it’s because the threads get derailed or obsessed with minutiae and/or polemics.
