that's literally just an omnibus of multiple books that are themselves already episodic in nature so it barely counts

audiobook for this was pretty great, listened to it at a dead end job monotonous drafting job. it feels like a book with multiple parts that have a very slow blend into each other

Some of the abridged editions are also over 600 pages and definitely worth reading

Hey, I have this book. Should I read it? It was given to me by one of my exgfs. But it's too damn long.

These are a few I greatly enjoyed:

>Gargantua and Pantagruel
>Don Quixote (arguably some of the jokes are stupid but the work itself doesn't feel drawn out)
>The Brothers Karamazov
>Demons
>Life and Fate
>Les Misérables

oh yes, i've read a short abridged (i think it was only the first portion of the whole book presented as the whole thing) version and loved it immensely. waiting for the memory to fade a lottle more so i can enjoy reading the whole book i've found

If a book is well over 500 pages, it probably either needs editing down or being split in two. Obviously doesn't apply everywhere

The main reason I haven't read Life and Fate yet is I have a feeling that it is crammed full of too much extra stuff that would make it a slog. Evidently this isn't the case?
