Had a beta reader tell me that if this got published Sally Rooney would be my main competition as the best writer of this generation. Reading her book didn't impress me at all and if that's the bar, I'm disappointed.

Normal People was a pretty good insight into the zoomer mind, desu. I have a number of friends who continue to pursue doomed relationships and random sex, and I could see the same patterns happening in the book and understand them slightly better.

It isn't particularly well written (it's fine, just nothing special prose-wise), but I think it's worth reading.
