I knew about that one but Ulysses surprised me more, because going through the original material must be hell for a foreign mangaka. Especially if you consider this is supposed to make you read it, and should have some degree of accuracy, while with philosololis what they did was mostly just put random anime girls with short sentences you could find on goodreads. But imagine writing a whole manga on one of the most difficult novels ever, written in a language you don't know, about a culture that a modern irish struggles understanding without notes. I want to read it!

Sure I'll post those and some of the funny/interesting panels I come across.
Unfortunately not everything is included, from what I remember I'm pretty sure there's no pissing scene, Molly's monologue is like two pages long and I was disappointed that the citizen wasn't in the cyclops and it could have been way more wacky with the panelling and composition, but overall I think it's a really serviceable adaption. Just the idea of Ulysses of all things being adapted into a manga is hilarious enough on its own.

That was amazing, anon, thank you so much. I am saving all of this, and I need to get my hand on a copy at a certain point. I feel like a reader unfamiliar with Ulysses wouldn't know what to do with the shifts from people sitting to Stephen hallucinating about his mother's ghost or Molly just randomly appearing beside Bloom... It's amazing how much the author manages to do using the most trite manga tropes and gags though

Well, a medium like manga isn't as versatile as the novel at depicting tone, so loss of aspects is expected. Seems like they went with simpler characterizations and relationships so they can get through the adaptation in a timely manner while keeping most of the message of the original and keeping it entertaining for the Japanese audience. So a lot of the latent resentment in Stephen and Mulligan's relationship is lost in favor of their sense of comradery that they keep for most of the novel. Bloom also took on a much more heroic role, keeping most of his perversions(which the Japanese would love) but missing that self-absorbtion he can have at times.

And now I've got to go. Overall, it's a pretty decent adaption but it could and should have definitely gone a bit more experimental. The very concept of a book like Ulysses having a manga adaption at all is hilarious though.
It's out of print, and most places sell it for outrageous prices, but I got mine and Moby Dick off of abebooks for like 20 bucks each. The Moby Dick one is kind of bad too be honest, but overall I love Ulysses. They have a Don Quixote manga too, which I ordered... but that one never ended up arriving.

Thank you anon, you made my day. The funny thing is that even if the manga is so hilariously bad, something of the novel keeps having such strength that it ended up being sort of moving in some bits. I don't know. Maybe it's just a sort of nostalgia trip because I love the novel, and even a bad adaptation such as this is good insofar as it makes me think about it.
