>Read Mythology
>Read Illiad and Odyssey
>Read Histories
>Read The First Philosophers (Oxford edition)
>Read Euthyphro > Apologies > Crito > Phaedo (CWs of Plato)
Now where the fuck do I go from there, the /lit? philosophy project doesn't have anything else on the reading order. Do I just read every other dialogue just as it is laid, do I REALLY need to read every single other dialogue in fact?
Plz help a lit bro out :(

Lol

Garbage. You were supposed to read Graham's.
You were supposed to use the blue chart for starting with the Greeks

Go chronologically. Start with Parmenides since in that dialogue Socrates is in his 20s making it the chronological first.

is there a list of dialogues ordered by Socrates life?

No, the one with the blue background that has a "/lit/ official" subtitle or something. It has the correct editions to read for tragedies too

You are missing out on the Republic, Timeaus, and Parmenides

Should I read Plato in the order that appears in "Plato: Complete Works"?

Just follow the Iamblichean order, then you're free to read whatever you catches your fancy. [First Alcibiades, Gorgias, Phaedo, Cratylus, Theaetetus, Sophist, Statesman, Phaedrus, Symposium, Philebus, Timaeus, and finally, Parmenides] I'd suggest reading the Meno, then the Republic and the Laws after you finish the dialogues set in the syllabus.

I did the same mistake(?) as you when starting out because everyone recommends reading the Trial tetralogy first, but it doesn't make any sense to me. I have no idea how popular this site (plato-dialogues org) is, but it's a blog about the dialogues and honestly the guy's order makes perfect sense to me. (if you go with this reading order i recommend you check out the site - as he explains the order itself - and also the commentaries for the first few dialogues because he talks about Plato's symbolism, which i don't see quite often)

why do we let people get away with read like 5 or so works of an author and then claiming they "read" that author. Do you only read All's Well and then claim you read Shakespeare or only read the Inferno and claim you read Dante? nonsense

Are you shitting me, you don't need anything to read Plato, it's as accessible as it gets. A baseline understanding of Greek mythology and culture is enough.
