Why it is possible to believe in immortality without the existence of souls, god etc. (Though property dualism is not rejected)
1 - If we take as an assumption that the states of the brain determine conscious states, we have two possibilities.
1-1: Every consciousness is equal, therefore, when you die, you're "reborn" in other body, everyone is equal.
1-2: There's a pattern of information that determines every kind of conscience in your brain, like a fixed structure that's constant in your brain
2 - IF we take 1-2 to be true, it would not be unreasonable to suppose that someone is going to be born with the same informational entity inside their heads.
3- Therefore consciousness is immortal. (At least until the end of time).
Discuss.

If it was truly immortal (it is) than it wouldn’t need the physical bodies of humans for it to remain conscious, but that seems to be the case in your misguided attempt to mesh the immortal soul with materialism

It doesn't, if we assume that some form of the OIP is real, a brain could be encoded in some kind of computer if we could capture its informational identity.
