Started Confessions of a mask, the prose was very nice but holy fuck it was gay. I should've expected as much, but I'm willing to give Mishima a 2nd chance. Any recommendations for what to read next?

How can we accurately judge his prose when we read it in translation? I was reading his
The Temple of The Golden Pavilion yesterday and this thought came across my mind. How faithful does the translator stick to Mishima's work?
I've heard of incidents when the author helped guide the translation process. I heard Haruki Murakami guides the translation of his work, but even he says that his novels in English are completely new pieces.
I've enjoyed the prose of Mishima's works so far. I just can't stop myself from feeling as if I'm missing out on something.
