I just discovered that my favorite film director also writes novels. Has anyone here read them? Are they any good? I don’t want to start reading and then be disappointed

dude, you have bad taste in movies, I hope your taste in books is better, so do not touch that crap

It's like a pizza cutter, all edge and no point. Strangely entertaining, though. Start with Wraiths of A Broken Land.

I agree, both Congregation of Jackals and Wraiths are edgy just to be edgy. His writing is amateurish and bland. He uses "presently" and his favorite 5/6 adjectives in every single page.
OP, if you want edgy and good, try Harry Crews, Tom Franklin and maybe Larry Brown.

I've read both Congregation of Jackals and Wraiths. They're good, but unremarkable. I'm a fan of his style as well, but reading that for 300 pages is enough to remove any impact from it, and it really makes you realize how limited his tool box is and how repetitive he can get.
