Why do philosophers avoid taking about suicide, with the exception of the overtired ethics of medical euthanasia?
Camus' claims in the essay, The Myth of Sisyphus, "There is but one truly serious philosophical problem and that is suicide"

It seems nonsensical to talk about the wonders of life, its sorrows and tackle its teleogy without questioning a very real alternative.

"And yet nobody down on the sidewalk, looking up and yelling ‘Don’t!’ and ‘Hang on!’, can understand the jump. Not really. You’d have to have personally been trapped and felt flames to really understand a terror way beyond falling."

Simply live, it only becomes an issue with Camus' gross misunderstanding of despair and anguish withing kierkeggards works (which are flawwed in their own regard) he took something that kierkeggard showed as a result of sin and romanticised it so much to suggest it is just a fact of living life in a modern society. Camus didn't consider himself a philosopher and the only other "philosophers" who do care about this pointless question are reddit anti-natalists

Nah its a philosophical take on life. Aurelius was also a philosophical man, so while he may not have explicitly written philosophy, his words carry the same weight a philosopher's would
