The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath, The Doom that came to Sarnath and Dagon. The Shadow out of time, as well.

My favorite is Shadow Over Innsmouth. Runners-up The Dunwich Horror and At the Mountains of Madness.

Dagon. One of the most effective and transporting stories of its length I've ever read. Feels as though hours pass with the narrator across a couple of pages in the best way.

The Thing on the Doorstep. Dreams in the Witch House is his scariest.

It's all about Whisperer In Darkness for me. Not only do you see almost nothing of the mi-go but what you get about them is through a letter to the narrator. There is enough obscurity from hearing a protagonist's tale of a monster, now you are the reader reading the account of a man reading a letter of an account of a witness to a monstrosity. And yet it is gripping, masterful story.

Favourite story is The White Ship. Objectively best story is probably The Colour Out of Space.

>Dreams in the Witch House is his scariest
I thought it was one of his funniest stories lol. It's full of unintentional and not so unintentional humor.
