Part of the reason we can misdiagnose people as schizos is because everything people do not understand is as good as magic. An intelligent person can say "Emus are the cause of Australia's femininity" and seem schizophrenic because people don't understand how he gets from one end of the statement to the other. An actual schizo might likely say the same thing because he was reading the vibrations from his burned toast. I find the question in itself a divergent and contrasting thing. Causality between favourite authors and literature is not a thing. While the IQ depicts technical knowledge as well as imagination and specs of our minda, literature and liking it is a deeply personal thing being bou d to ones own mentality and experiences. Wise men can be dumb and fools can as well be intelligent. There is always a difference between intellect and wisdom.

>> No.18014696

As verified by an IQ test, and an internal test administered by MENSA annually, I have an IQ of around 176 -/+ standard deviation for error of about one point.

I can not tell you what the average is, no matter how potent my disdain for such a thing is. It has to do with character, and that is often molded by IQ ,but as far as human beings are even an absolute genius can still enjoy literature like the example. There are farmers in parts of Armenia that learn Greek poetry in school and are able to recite it many years after. It is probable that intelligent people may search for greater heights and sense in books but what a person decides to consume and absorb is within their own personal space. As far as I know, books are products of their authors imagination, furthermore they tell tales of the society in which they were contained in.

A key aspect is "clinical" vs "subclinical." Symptoms can be subclinical and thus not related to a diagnosed condition. You can have associated thought in a moderated manner and that can be creative. Unmoderated to life-inhibited extents means you're likely on the schizophrenia spectrum (schizotypal/schizophrenia/schizoaffective). If you are a misanthrope or have isolated yourself recently, and if your associated thinking pattern is something that started in your late teens or later, then you might want to be concerned. If you find your hygiene declining, your ability to complete tasks declining, or your pleasure in tasks declining in a way that isn't exactly depression, see a profession.
Those are symptoms of prodromal schizophrenia and early treatment (even after you've started hallucinating/developed delusions) has incredible impact on the prognosis. Schizophrenia is a progressive disease that worsens with each psychotic episode, and the more you exist within this disordered reality, the greater the damage to your brain. People often ignore the cognitive effects of schizophrenia, such as the fact that your ability to reason declines. Schizophrenia isn't a proper "mental illness," rather it's considered a neurodevelopmental disorder, something that is fundamentally wrong with the structure of your brain, with the consequences of this improper development manifesting as your brain finishes development in your late teens/early twenties.

In the late 2000s the online tests became very popular and friends would share them on MySpace and Bebo. Most of them scored me in the low 150s, but a few were wildly off.
Not sure if my experience is representative, but my best educated guess would be that most of them are good. The few bad eggs are probably stroking people's egos to get them to buy a certificate.

Later on I made my big brother (4 year difference) take the same tests and he scored 102 and 99, my brother is not dumb and I'm not smart, but since I was little I always noticed he's always had a little more difficulty in learning/ less interest in languages/ math / history / science/ politics etc. So I supposed the scores to be true, but I really have no "real" score, nor do I want to know it anymore, since I think the importance of it is often "overrated".
