What are some comfy Knight Errant stories out there similar to the Dunk and Egg tales? I know they're based on medieval chivalric romances and I do want to read some of the classics eventually but right now I'm looking for something easier to read and relax to, so modern english (19th century at the earliest) is preferred.

Yeah, I love the sudden brutality that sometimes shows up in the Dunk & Egg stories. It's quite fitting too with older medieval tales, I remember in Le Morte d'Arthur some extremely explicit gore showing up out of nowhere, like an ultra detailed description of a sword entering a mouth, breaking through the teeth and piercing the brain.
