Not a book, but if you want cheap shit that you can probably make money on. Go to any junkyard/reclamation yard during the rain and worse weather possible - best if its open and the people who work there stand exposed.

Wait and barter with them for 20 minutes without leaving, if its anywhere else where haggling is allowed stay for like 2 hours, they'll basically pay you to stop wasting their time, its a pretty good way to make money off of items.

Also if you want free food dress like a bum dirty clothes etc. then you just need to find a soup run and then you'll get free soup.

My source for this was a family member, they the money to own multiple properties but did this sorta thing out of protest against charity or the welfare state I suppose.

Well you'd run them dry that way I suppose as well as getting free shit, not to mention he was Jew in the jewellery quarter in Birmingham. Who was pretty put out by people getting what they didn't deserve ("essentially I had to work to put food on the table why do they not have to pay", is what I'd assume his logic would be).

Mind you I was young enough that I was born far after his death so much of it could be hear say but the actual advice seems sound.

Also I guess it puts material cost on them, with minimal effort as he had a shitty coat he'd use for it.
