Are there any good novels which prominently feature urban exploration and/or climbing tall non-natural structures?

Would these people be doing all this, if there was no social media to post it on?

There's probably quite a few people that do things like this but don't post it, but then of course no one sees it because it's not been posted

Ah some people do it just for fun. Some guy got interviewed that he got in and explored a house of a murdered billionaire. Due to it being a crime scene, he couldn't post a video of him doing it cuz ya know...illegal

Can't you legally acquire houses like that?

yes, because they have years of experience before they start posting it online. it is their hobby. it's not random people doing dumb shit, believing this is a cope for the sedentary loser. also, some of them stop because of legal action that they don't want to keep dealing with. the guy in the pic has been arrested a few times and taken to court iirc.

posting online is just to get money to cover the time and money spent on it. also, i guess they might like the video creation and editing process. the more they take off the more they can do what they enjoy (urbex), where they would otherwise be limited by time/money. furthermore, it is a career investment because they are building a brand. they can try to transition away from it if it becomes a hassle while still making money.

not really urbex or parkour but very much related to both is A Burglar's Guide to the City
