Socrates: and so dear Glaucon, would one buy from a domestic supplier in bulk?

Glaucon: No Socrates, I don't think one would,

S: Then from whom, would one buy, my dear friend?

G: From, a merchant like Alibaba or another oriental such seller.

S: And this is because they are cheaper?

G: It cannot be denied!

S: and this is despite shipping?

G: Yes, Certainly

S: Very good, and now Glaucon, we have as the Boetians say, grabbed the bull by its horn, but to ensure we have not grappled with a hornless donkey, please answer - do we set up auctions or just sell directly?

G: Well Socrates, I think an auction would take too long, whereas if we just put the desired price, we can ensure we always make a per-unit profit.

S:It appears that is so Glaucon.

Shit has changed over the past 2500 years, dog. Pic related. Beasts of burden don't need philosophy, beasts of burden need good masters. We need many things right now. Philosophy is not one of them, mandatory dwarfism. is one of them.

Pic related is how happiness works. Enlightenment doesn't make you happy. You get more happiness going from a 2/10 quality of life to a 3/10 quality of life than you do from a 10/10 quality of life. Human experience is relative to the expected baseline. High qualify of life is sadism. You spend your life as Tantalus, reaching for happiness which is unattainable because your baseline quality of life is so high it becomes physically impossible to improve.

Beneath joy and happiness is contentment, which can only be attained stoicism and overpowering desire. This is conditioned against in world driven by material goods because they want you to have cravings so you consume and fuel the economy. When you reduce the status of the peasant to beast of budren and forbid him from having property and holdings, forbid him from consumption above the level of any other domesticated animal, then he is no longer conditioned to constantly seek improvement and consume goods.

When you tell the peasant that improvement is impossible, he does not desire improvement in his life, much like how you are not upset by the fact that you cannot fly like a bird every day, because you know for certain it is impossible. The same is true for the consumption of goods. Seeking higher quality consumptive pleasure is akin to a gateway drug, you taste good food, now bad food tastes worse. You cannot give peasants the opportunity to have opinions. They are given one food for their entire life, this is the one taste they know. They don't know "better or worse" tastes, thus have no capacity to be upset by "bad food" because there is nothing to compare it too.

Good masters would design your lives to ensure high levels of contentment and happiness, but lazy masters like you have now only seek to improve their position while disregarding the health and psychological state of the peasants. You're being sacrificed by shortsighted masters who are themselves afflicted by the same insatiable diseases of the mind that cripple the peasantry.

>Reading Greek philosophy
>Not American philosophy

America is ultimately the God which has created the Western world and has immense influence over the lesser powers of the world. To use Greek philosophy in a world governed by the reality created by the whims and mistakes of America is to use a Fiat manual when attempting to work on a Ford car. It's not going to work very well.
