probably some young adult/kid stuff technically, aside from lord of the rings the most prominent books I remember enjoying were city of the beasts and sea of trolls, as well as some kid friendly Canadian detective stories that I completely forgot the name of, but I never really got serious about reading until I got older. I borrowed the Road from a friend and read it in 2 sittings, perhaps not because it was the greatest book ever but because I was suddenly reminded for the first time in my matured life how pleasant and engaging reading could be, so I was just enthralled with it. after that things really kicked off, and the rest is history

'get' in what sense.
Even with non fiction I primarily read for entertainment.

Bradbury is a psued. He likes to pretend sheltered academics who spend all their time reading or writing are true revolutionaries when they're usually useful agents of the system.

I don't kbow what you mean by that but The Hobbit really captivated me as a child, probably the first time I was absolutely enthralled by a book.

Imagine being a pulp sci-fi writer but also a modern Luddite whose crowning message is: stop watching TV and start reading Shakespeare.

Wow, congratulations. If you didn’t “get” 451 then Bradbury’s simplistic baby-brain prose then you should be publicly castrated.
