I'm bored of books

what should I read to fix this? The last time I finished a book must have been in like February. I tried reading The Old Man and the Sea but it was boring too. Books are just too boring for me nowadays. I need something fun to read like The Three Musketeers.

So anyone have any suggestions?

Somerset Maugham.

I recently read Infinite Jest after a similar dry spell, and it really revived my interest in reading. I don't know if you're part of that book group or not, but maybe read it on your own or something, because it's really well written, and I'd consider it fun just because there's so much good stuff in there. Or you could just try to read some less literary books; Stephen King or Douglas Adams or some sci-fi or something, just to keep you reading.

Maybe some non-fiction?

I tried to be a part of that group but the nazis in charge of it keep banning me from their forums for no reason. Between 4chan and that forum there's no way for me to escape internet persecution.

Michael Circhton, his books are simple but fun and they contain informative/relevant scientific research.

I would recommend 'Next". It's about a series of events in pop culture that regard the developments of micro biology... It is shockingly disturbing.

My favorites by him are - Jurrasic Park, The Lost World, and Congo... Timeline is also great....

btw the movies are the same stories, but it's the science discussed in the books that will make you love this dude, RIP

Well then just read it on your own if you do decide to read it, you don't really need a large internet support group to get through it.

Allow me to make an argument.

A fun mystery novel that's actually a light read, and engrossing through fun dialogue. The main character is a total asshole to everyone, not because he's a bad guy, but because mostly they are. And he's not cynical! In fact, he still has a strong sense of fun.

They made a (fun) Chevy Chase movie of the first book, and an original movie sequel. There are eleven books in the series.

Actually all the posts I've made on there were quality posts, though admittedly witty and satirical so perhaps they were seen as offensive to the people in charge of the forum. You can't really help ignorance.

yes i do that's why i'm on here.

>> No.1783841

Argument: A reason or set of reasons given with the aim of persuading others that an action or idea is right or wrong.

I'm suggesting that reading Fletch is the appropriate course of action for you at this point. Another suggestion is to consider listening to an audiobook.
