I think it’s good to have a working knowledge of the big philosophers(Plato Aristotle, Descartes Hume etc), but people who are heavily into academic philosophy, the cutting edge stuff, it seems a very masturbatory exercise to me. Particularly a lot of the crazy shit to do with AI, political economy, and batshit ethical theories like anti Natalism
