>say antagonistic things to anons I regret because they have a different literary opinion than me
>feel bad because I know this isn't how discussion should be handled
>still do this everyday
How do I stop bros? I keep attacking anons and try to make them look stupid or call them stupid in any literary discussion on this board. Is it me or am I succumbing to "4chan discourse culture"? I'm not like this in conversation, but I don't have that many conversations to begin with let alone literature. What's happening to me?

Calm yourself, center yourself. Clearly you know that this style isn't desirable, which is good of you. Next time someone says something where you see an opportunity for mockery or vitriol, take a breather and think about what you ACTUALLY want to say. Any man can tell me to kill myself for having shit taste, but it takes an intellect to connect my shit taste to my deep-seated mommy issues. Ya dig?

That is the point of coming here though. I want to hear antagonistic view points. It will either affirm my own convictions or make me reconsider my position. Good work, Anon.

Adopt a tripcode —or even just use a name— in order to start feeling responsible for what you post, and to curtail your vicious tendencies; namelesness is a choice, not a requirement, nor is it constitutive of culture; any consistent member of a community should be known within it by his/her autarkic name.

I’d like to think I’m a somewhat moral and decent guy in real life. But the idea of a lack of consequence for your actions caused by this sites partial anonymity has the potential to bring out the worst (and the most truthful in people.) I say the most horrible things on this site and I cannot stop

The thread about tripcodes and board quality last week shook me to the point where I dug up my old trip from a decade ago. It really has stopped me from posting mean or nonconstructive things.

I do this too. But lately I've taken to apologizing immediately afterwards.

i've started regularly just posting positive things in literature related threads and it's nice. be the change you want to see

also i guess because this isn't a literature related thread i should make it so and urge everyone to read ivy compton burnett. she's so fucking good and unique. incredibly precise, mean, passive aggressive conversations stripping the soul from everyone involved in cold polite language. it's subtle, incredibly cruel, and addictive. just pages and pages of people tearing each other to shreds

What a stupid opinion. Only a guy posting a retarded fish photo would be so stupid. Do fish wear jeans? No. Ergo your photo is stupid and your post is stupid. And also your photo is stupid. I already said that, but I have to say it again to let it sink in. Did you not have a Pepe? They're all over the place dumb dumb. I was having a nice scroll through all the pepe pictures and there's this smile fish out of nowhere. Why do I have to be subjected to posts like this? If you had a good literary opinion you would be happy to call people stupid because that way they would have to agree with you and would read some better books. Now get back to your hole and practice not forcing me to call you dummy dumb dumb.
