Charts you've created.

Just made this one for the anon yesterday who asked for British Conservatism recommendations but was left without a chart or many decent recommendations

Nice one anon. This board is too full of nonliterature related threads. Sorry I have nothing to contribute.

This is quite a mix - I hope some of the books explain the difference between actual Toryism, and the crypto-whiggery that the "Conservative" party has embodied for 2 centuries odd.

>the other side has an actual ideology at the back of their beliefs even if it’s a crap ideology
>shit we need one too
>quick let’s create a posthoc ideology out of the many incompatible aspects of our worldview including neoliberal capitalism, Anglican “Christianity” and the enlightenment
“Conservatives” are nearly as cringe as communists.

I don't think that's a very fair criticism. Conservatism, liberalism and the labour movement are all rather fluid traditions rather than static ideologies like Marxism. Plus OP's chart is not very representative. Notice the oversaturation of two recent, very visible "public intellectuals", and the hastily assembled collection of older texts probably taken from the Wikipedia page on conservatism.

>> No.17753235

>>17753217
High Toryism was a coherent ideology, but was put to death as a political entity in the 18th century.
It makes more sense to see the current "Conservative" party as successors to the Whigs, who have made peace with the monarchy and aristocracy after the latter have been so entirely gutted of any true functional power as to render them harmless.

o único problema com livros em português é que todos os autores que li até agora com exceção do Assis tendem se levar a sério demais. Parece que a arte da ironia e da sutileza foi totalmente esquecida. Me sinto um autista lendo Pesssoa entre outros.
