I mean the guy was predicting that all profit margins would shrink to zero and there would be a worldwide revolution because of worsening working conditions. This was completely off the mark.

Economists study the tangible, practical workings of an economy. Marx was just a theorist, and most of this theories didn't pan out.

A single popular philosopher has never been more misunderstood and unread yet still talked about than Karl Marx. Even most self proclaimed Marxists have not read Capital. Unless you have read all of Capital twice, read Grundrisse twice, and have settled yourself in the interventions and current debates around Marx around figures like Heinrich and Postone you do not deserve to have an opinion on Marx. This should be the standard for any major thinker by the way.

Everyone says the same shit, KNOW ONE KNOWS WHO IS THE REAAAL MARX. Reading capital doesn't mean shit if you don't understand the economic terms he uses meant something different back then (ricardian terms, etc) and other contextual elements. Also there's young vs old marx, unpublished vs published marx.Your opinion is fucking gay and a repetition of things you've heard.

does reading about marx and some of his text and agreeing about some of his ideas but also agreeing with >>17729452 make me a marxist? I dont wanna be a marxist. Based Peterson has only talked bad about them and so has every other non-marxist like the entirety of american society

>> No.17730434

There's nothing of value in Marx. You can clearly see that with all the people it attracts - the lowest drudges of society, spiteful of the fact that no one wants any parts of them.

"i am not a marxist." - marx

>> No.17730689

his economic predictions are bullshit but his philosophical ones get more confirmed each day, especially his conception of ideology. basically early marx > late marx
