I don't see them as meme books. I dont have many modern books that would be seen as memes like 1984 or Cthulhu or war and peace. I like history and evolutionary psychology and read these books out of interest in those subjects rather then to enjoy a good story or message. All of the books I've read from this pile I read in a week or two, apart from le mord de arthur, it's a really shitty read. I am vain though and won't buy a book if the cover looks shit, don't care what that says about me.
