Any books that have the same level of complexity in regards to myth building and interaction with the world building and plot?

>You are now in the Arcanaeum, of which I am in charge. You might as well call it my own little plane of Oblivion. Disrupt my Arcanaeum, and I will have you torn apart by angry Atronachs. Now, is there anything I can help you with?

Not even. If you can adjust to the graphics (which look fine in my opinion), then Morrowind outshines Skyrim in many ways. The game is a very unique experience that I recently discovered and loved, as a zoomer

How clunky is it relative to skyrim and be honest. I haven't played vidya in a long ass time but I may be willing to try something like MW. Are there any modpacks that polish things up a bit? I'm an unabashed ZOOMER.

Literal real world religions. Read Swedenborg and start reading the Ancients.

Download Morrowind
Download the unofficial patch
Download MGE and increase view distance
Maybe a texture pack

There you go. It's not modern standards of smoothness but it's a very rich experience that outshines many aspects of later games. Even though I first played skyrim too morrowind is a lot of fun, although I have to admit I have never finished it. I think you should give it a try and just get through the starting slog of having a weak ass character.

I admittedly also prefer skyrim over morrowind- but I'm almost certain this is just because I played skyrim when it came out when I was 10 years old.

The one thing you need to know going in is the combat is RNG and skill based so you are going to miss A LOT starting out. Expect to run from a lot of things.

I frankly can't imagine enjoying the gameplay of Morrowind after starting with Skyrim. But the immersiveness is where it succeeds brilliantly; the fact that I've been playing it every year for the last 17 years and am still finding new quests and new (interesting and worthwhile) dungeons says a lot about it. The playthrough I'm doing now is the first time I've fucked with alchemy and I'm lying awake nights just thinking about in-game plant lore. You don't really notice the shitty UI or combat when you care that deeply about the storyline.
Definitely get different skins for the NPCs though; the originals are fucking dire.
