My earworms are so loud that they won't let me concentrate and read in peace. Please, I need the music to stop.

You're just a musical person rather than a linguistic one. The more rarefied domains of higher thought just aren't for you.

Don't listen to these retards. Whether you have OCD or just stupid it doesn't really matter. Either way, just stick on some ambient noise to block it out. I usually use mynoise.net (great website btw) and mix the binaural harmonics generator with something calming like an ocean or rain sound, keeps me focused for hours.

>been getting a lot of mental static when trying to sleep
When in bed I normally have regular scenario/narrative thought trains but the last few nights I've been getting flashes of indecipherable images. Pic related is a crude drawing of a single "frame" from memory. It seems more intrusive when I lie on one side over the other. What do you guys think?

This sounds retarded anon, but you have to imagine the end of the musical phrase - for instance if I had like Taylor Swift stuck in my head, like 2 seconds of a song, I'd complete the phrase in my head. Just imagine how the little bit of music you keep hearing ends. You need to 'resolve' it

That's hypnagogic imagery, your mind on the treshold between wakefulness and sleeping. It can be pretty cool, but they definitely don't appear if you literally think yourself to sleep, but they do if you are in a relaxed state of mind.

Most of the time they're melodies that loop on each other with no end.

>> No.17527354

>>17527334
Ok, so can you identify the start of the phrase, like where the loop starts back at the beginning?

There's a lot of them and I'd rather not reinforce them by counting them. I'll just say that the one driving me crazy this week was the Wii Menu music, which is infuriating considering I've never owned or played on a Wii.

>>17527433
I suppose you could try and alter it, like imagine it going round once and then next time a semitone down or something? In the case of wii music, you know how it ends also

I suffered tremendously with this as a kid! Ask for the meaning behind why you can’t get the music out. Talk to it. Relax into it more and more dont resist it. There’s a significance to the music. Do it for a week and come back

Weird, because I was pretty awake. It takes around an hour to an hour and a half for me to fall asleep and it hadn't even been 20 minutes. I had exploding head syndrome once and it scared the shit out of me. I don't it was hypnagogic imagery
