Arberry's is the best if you don't want commentary. For commentary, Qutb or Ibn Kathir's tafsir translated into English

Study Quran is shit, it has almost notes. Best is Ibn Kathir.

That’s the one I have OP. A problem with it is that it doesn’t use the word Allah. It uses the translated God. This didn’t bother me that much but I would have preferred reading the read Allah on the page as it would have felt more “immersive” or whatever.

This view isn't even held explicitly by Inn Taymiyya himself. He mentions the view in his books, but not that he adheres to it. His student popularised it, but basically *nobody* follows this view except modern westerners who find it awkward to tell their non Muslim neighbours that he believes they will burn.
