Yeah, the perks of being a Muslim seem more prevalent when you deal with the problems of modern western "ideals"

Wut? But how do they get people to work if they aren't enslaved to the system through debt?

>> No.17508585

pretty sure this is only "technically" like the orthodox jews technically don't do work or anything on the sabbath but have a whole absurd industry around allowing them to do things on the sabbath

Seems that way...does money have a time component? Was Aristotle wrong?

>> No.17508740

>>17508335
That's BS, a bank that doesn't charge interest rates has no reason to exist. They simply make schemes to circonvene the nominal interdiction and make their financial products superficially look interest-free. In the end they still sell money and make profit out of it, and actually at a higher rate than usual banks.
But muslims are happy to be conned as long as it's halal, so fine with them.

>does money have a time component
yes, in several ways. due to inflation/deflation, money is objectively worth more/less at different times. additionally, money can be worth more/less to a particular person at a particular time depending on its utility (or perceived utility) to that person -- eg $100 is worth more to a man on the verge of starvation than it is to someone who has several weeks to go before needing to eat.
