Slaughterhouse-Five was the only Vonnegut book I read that I thought was genuinely enjoyable.

Anyhow, I think a lot of people don't like this book, but it is a "classic." Yet another case where the movie is better.

I fuckin HATE Hawthorne the punk ass little bitch.

>WAHH WAHH MY FAMILY PARTICIPATED IN THE SALEM WITCH TRIALS WAHH WAHH
>lemme just ignore the blossoming state of America's first intellectual movement to (poorly) copy the British Romantics

Why does anyone like this little bitch? Melville? Sick. Emerson? Sick. Dickinson? Sick. Whitman? Sick.

Tolstoy is pseud as fuck. Rich people are incapable of creating great art.
Luckily I found that out while reading his short stories, so I saved massive amounts of my valuable time by knowing he is shit without having to read 900 page novels.

Short stories are the best way to find out the quality and style of a writer. If you can't write a decent short story, your novels are probably beyond terrible. There is almost no exception to this rule.
