You can meme on him all you want but Towards a New Socialism is a text of vital importance for the 21st century movement. At least tell me how you fell about the rest of the chart.

Name drop dumps like these are pointless. Why don't you pick one, say what you've read of/on him and then what you like about him.

his work in and of itself isn't especially original, but it was the first substantive work to attempt to respond head-on within bourg econ to the new gospel that material balance planning wouldn't work in the wake of post-soviet myopia. in the 70s, it would remained unnoticed fanfic. i think there's something almost courageous in his project, although what he's trying to do is based on wrong premises and how he does it is incoherent. there's a big market for people who want to read that kinda stuff, anyway. the unremarkable cybersyn book has a cult.
there are a lot of sins... in theory you can arguably reduce real costs to dated labour a la sraffa (though cockshott's model in fact wouldn't do this). for me, the biggest sin is that he's constructed a model of capitalism, just with no consumer surplus. surprisingly common view today is that planning in terms of quantities and abstract labour units somehow ipso facto abolishes value even though it can be trivially shown (if optimal) to correspond to GE. dude, sraffa called it production of *commodities* by *commod* for a reason. unique psychosis, concocting knock-off sraffa models (but w maximal distribution to K/minimal to W) and claiming that these represent a communism

But he's right though. Socialism is abolishment of the value form. The idiots you worship, like Lenin, do not actually abolish capitalism; they manage it under the state.

Why? He's irrelevant; syndicalism what we have now; its completely compatible with capitalism
