Was thinking about starting Dead Souls by Gogol. I've read a bunch of Dosto and AK by Tolstoy but not much more Russian lit.

Dead Souls is pretty great anon, good choice. I personally really like Turgenev, so I would suggest his work as well. A good starting off point for him would be First Love, if you care to read him.
>>17376562
Damn bro, don't worry about them, you were doing yourself a favor and what they thought about that doesn't mean shit.

Imo the best reading order for him is:
First Love, On the Eve, A Sportsman's Sketches, Fathers and Sons, and Virgin Soil.

i made it to age 19 without reading a book outside of school. one day i heard someone talk about the world war z book and it sounded interesting so i bought it online and liked it and decided to start reading more books. by that point i had regret about how much time i spent playing video games and decided i would try to read as a hobby to replace it

Good morning, frens!
>>17376920
Aussie bro, look at the avg lifespan of Australians and subtract 19 from it.
That's how many years left you can read.
Regret isn't useful.

fren, o fren, my sails swell,
over 65 books in ~6-7w, and over 50 started, rated poorly and discontinued;
losting my music collection, i may be reignited a lost desire to predict other peoples thoughts and writings and get an exhilaration rush, when my expectations are not met
feels gud to be reading again

Good morning, My morning is alright. My isp is still banned from /biz/ and /pol/ so that sucks. I also have to go hang my head down in shame and walk to the food pantry and get food. While I am typing this I’m starting to feel a bit of my depression rising up. I wish you well, god bless.

I feel like being banned from /pol/ is a blessing anon, and I do not mean that as a political statement.
