I own this edition but I intentionally borrowed a copy with a better cover. This one looks like it’s about a one night stand, not a spiritual battle in the aftermath of a global pandemic.

I hate this cover so much. It makes this decent fantasy novel look like atrocious airport literature with that horrendous font and the badly photoshopped cloaked guy that you can barely even tell apart from the background.

Wordsworth publishing has an incredibly slim profit margin because each book costs £2.50. It's fairly obvious they're trying to market classics covers similar to cheesy romance novels to try and sell more copies.
Imagine a 45 year old woman was walking around a supermarket and saw that cover; she might just be tricked into buying it.

The printings themselves suck too. Why would you print a long-ass book like that in a tiny paperback? The sequel has almost a thousand pages. Could've been way better to read if they just made it a bit larger so its not almost a 1:1 ratio of thickness to height.
