I read that some time ago so my memory might be cloudy at some points.

From what I can recall he makes the following couple of general mistakes

i) His entire premise is that NRx theorists engage in a defense of tradition in the form of feudalist organizations and/or corporate bureaucracies. That is already wrong to begin with as even Moldbug's blog which he cites on that piece presents "self-consistent" criticisms of the very thing Alexander claims he's defending. NRx writers are infamous even for how much they don't really support their own mad regimes. But let's assume for entertainment we should keep going with pointing out things.

b) 8 years later in 2021 he is dead, dead wrong about the statistics showing "progress" in things such as inequality, debt, and violent crime. He's also absurdly guilty of being local and treating US statistics only when our problem is exactly that causes and effects are rippling on global scales now. If he had any reason to hope in 2014 things have truly gone to shit since then.

He's somewhat progressive himself, but is fully aware of how deranged the dominant portion of the left has become. It's funny that in the end, the NYT threatened to dox him and he froze the blog. He was supposed to start writing again in January. Maybe he's waiting for the inauguration, or the capitol riot deep sixed the whole thing.
