Does this film win /lit/'s approval, or its contempt?

For those who haven't seen it, it's shot through with literary references and features (a fictionalized version of) Christopher Marlowe as a leading character. It also includes a cameo by Infinite Jest.

"Heavy-handed" is a good way to describe this movie. There are some things about it that are downright annoying, but the film also has some interesting qualities that keep drawing me back to it despite my misgivings. It's also what prompted me to read "Infinite Jest."
