I read Inventing a Nation: Washington, Adams, Jefferson yesterday, was honestly disappointed by how poorly Vidal was able to stay on point. Full of rambling asides and digressions. Typical of autodidacts but I had expected more from Vidal.

Probably would be more powerful if I was American and reading from that context. Was surprised by how sympathetic Hamilton came off as. The part about Washington trying to get at his boy pussy was funny at least.
