Hey /lit/, I'm doing a project that requires me to read one of the books on this list. Having looked at a few of them, White Noise by Don DeLillo looks enticing to me.

What would you choose and why?

I've heard great things about The Color Purple, I've heard good things about Poisonwood Bible. The Namesake is by Jhumba Lahiri and she's not too bad (based on the book of short stories I read by her) as long as you don't mind listening to someone talk nostalgia about India.

Sorry, never read any of these.

seriously? anyway, yeah, I'd say DeLillo's White Noise is probably the best choice from what I've read on the list, although I could see some people here arguing for Murakami

I've always wanted to read, "Remains of the Day" after watching the movie. (Still haven't gotten around to it though). I would suggest that.

Awesome, thanks I'll check those out as well. White Noise seemed really out there and interesting when I looked it up which is what drew me to it.

Wow, this book looks incredible. Looks like this decision will be tough.

Also, bamp. I'd love to hear some more opinions
