Most modern philosophy is done in American universities. The English have decreased their output significantly in the past half century, and so has Europe. I would advise you read more if you sincerely don't know of any American philosophy.

Their philosophers never really had success outside the US
The most important ones are Peirce, Rawls, Dewey, Rorty and Kripke
