Communist manifesto was written for idiot peasants in 19th century germany. It's a terrible introduction to Marxism and even denounced by Marx during his lifetime as being out of date. There is so much good secondary sources on marxism or just read capitalism which goes on about the most important core and extremities of the ideology.
