What books would you recommend to an alcoholic coomer who's trying to fix his life?

The New Testament

City of Saints and Madmen inspired me to stop drinking and start producing creatively. I’ve no idea why, since the work doesn’t deal much with alcohol nor with abstinence of any kind—rather, I was so moved by the passion put into the project that I wanted to better myself and stop wasting so much time.

It’s hard to say what book does this for a given individual but maybe it would work for you?

I’d recommend you to get acquire the pleasure (and habit) of reading and working out in general. You won’t want to destroy that which you spend so much hard work nurturing and building.

Epicurus, maybe some Taoism and zen. Addiction is a tough thing to beat after too much rewiring, but you can do it.
