Yes, it’s great little museum, it doesn’t have a huge collection, but if you know anything about the history of art, it’s filled with some absolute gems. They recently acquired a superb medieval Eucharistic Dove with Limoges enamel, apparently it was quite the coup. Williams, Yale and Vassar are all (somewhat) nearby and would make a great weekend of museum-going.

Jesus, was this guy even human? It's as if he viewed humanity in a disgusting blurry way and could only paint them through the filter of his damaged soul. Notice the details of the building compared to that of the human. It implies a cold and algebraic logic to shun humanities imperfection and embrace the cold calculated nature of architecture as if he wished humanity was so mathematical. He never could have been a great leader. Great leaders come to love and embrace the spontaneity and inperfection of the human thought and form. 3/10.

Hope by Gustav Klimt

The black, chthonic sea monster, on the right, is wrapping his tentacle around the woman, but the woman looks so tranquil. Behind her are gruesome faces, depicting sickness, madness, and death, but in her glowing womb there is hope.

I like what you’re saying, especially
>He never could have been a great leader. Great leaders come to love and embrace the spontaneity and inperfection of the human thought and form. 3/10.
To add, I view it almost grapholigically. The solitude and clinginess and the solace he seems to seek by the concreteness of the almost etched out, hard lines of the building, that he had to rely upon a ruler to draw. (as he were to etch basically everything else by clean lines in all issues of his internal life). The action of his hands drawing this uncovers the crying out of his wavering mental foundation. And so on and so on. I hope some one gets what I mean. I come to think of the drawings of Robert Moses, who also was a terrible racist interstingly enough.

Yeah, that's actually a couple of days after in the meeting where Kotuzov finally decides to forgo Moscow or more exactly recognises the inability to fight for Moscow. Tolstoy actually describes the girl in the corner and the cat too I think.

Unironically, this. I’m a big mountaineering and hiking guy and every time I see this painting it inspires me like a good John Muir book does.
